Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has warned that journalists in the Gaza Strip “who continue to cover one of this century’s deadliest wars are in constant, imminent danger of death”.
“Nowhere is safe for journalists in the Gaza Strip – whether they are out in the open, operating in press tents set up near hospitals, or working in their homes or makeshift shelters with their loved ones,” the RSF said.
Forty-one journalists have been killed since October 7, the group has reported, including 36 Palestinian reporters killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza.
The RSF also said more than 50 media premises have been damaged or destroyed in Israeli attacks, including the latest on the Agence France-Presse bureau in Gaza.
